Custom Rear bumper with toolboxes
Im toying around with the idea of building a new rear bumper for my truck to match the front and open up some more storage space..
my idea is to cut the lower rear quarter off the bed from the bodyline down and extend the bumper all the way to the fender then build in small boxes from the frame to the edge of the bumper to store my chains and straps and emergency supplies. id also like to throw some tail light guards on to kind of match my front bumper with some tubular steel
if anyone could throw this all together in photoshop thatd be AWESOME. right now im toying around in paint and this is what ive got
FRONT BUMPER
REAR AS OF NOW
SKETCH OF THE BOX IDEA(both sides)
IDEA FOR THE BUMPER(without the lights and ladder and extra bars)
thats what im toying around with now. Ive got a couple weeks of leave scheduled around christmas so ill probably do it around then

I wouldn't combine the two, toolboxes and bumper. I'd make them separate parts, and build them so they blend into one another. That way it isn't one big heavy piece, and if one is damaged it alone can be removed.
I do like the idea, a good use of practically wasted space. Tool boxes in front of the tire on the lower half of the box would work as well.
