My truck burn down...
During I was away for my 2 weeks hollyday my 2004 cummins catch fire in my driveway and is a total lost. I am realy sad about that and I wonder how it catch fire just standing there in the driveway, it dont run for 8 days before it catch fire. That truck was in a good shape and I just put 2000$ bucks in upgrade (lift kit, custom made control arm, custom made track bar, ball joints, steering bar, stainless 4 inchs exaust...) The insurance say that it's no problem I am covered for fire, I beleive I am going to get around 16 000$ for my truck. What I should do, found another 5.9l cummins or upgrade to a 6.7l cummins, my wife own a 2006 5.9l MegaCab. I am affraid of the 6.7, I dont no this engine realy well, I do all my mecanic and I dont want to get a truck that I cant fix. Is the 6.7 is as good as the 5.9, the 6 speed transmission is it good, whats about the parts, is it available and cheap like the 5.9 or not. The 5.9 is a icon engine that I like but new thecnologie can be better some time. I dont want to do lots of upgrade, just some good stuff (better lift pump, 3 inch lift kit, stronger front end, shock, exhaust...) I use the truck for daily ride and to pull my trailer with my tractor, about 8500 poudns.
Thanks for your info.

I cant figure out how it catch fire. total mistery. Cops are doing investigation but they think it's not a criminal fire. I guest if somebody want to put my truck in fire it do it at night time, the truck burn around lunch time.
I am happy I make you laugh, sorry but english is not my first language...

I would stick with the 5.9 cause it doesn't have a DPF
Does me proud to see how well our public schools are teaching the kids! Besides that stick with the 5.9.
