Default 06 5.9 missing at idle, clears up when revved

Friend of mine has an 06 quad cab. 32k miles. When you start it with the engine cold it will run like its only got 5 cylinders, smoking raw fuel. If you Rev the motor to maybe 1000 rpm and let off it will idle perfectly, no smoke. Didn't throw any codes. Pulled injectors and took them in, 3 ohm tested bad and Swede replaced yesterday. Started this morning and the same exact thing. Smoked and idles like crap until you blip the throttle. I'm stumped. Anybody seen this before?

would have to think its getting air in system somewhere. Did you torque the fuel tube nuts when u replaced injectors?

Yeah, it was actually done by my friend, it was done right. He's probably done a hundred sets of injectors or more. Works at a shop that does only diesels. But nobody I know.has ever seen anything like it

And its doing the same exact thing it was doing before replacing the injectors. So unless it was already loose and then installed back loose that's not the problem

Yeah. It was done right. Ill check where the injector lines go into the head and see if there's any fuel there just to make sure.

If I read it right runs same as before injectors were changed right? Change the harness to the injectors

^ I was also wondering about the harness, have seen them mess up on the early styles but, The clearing up with a throttle blip steered me away from that.

Yeah, I've seen tons of powerstrokes need them but not Cummins. Its possible I guess. I was hoping someone had seen this same exact problem before, guess its gonna be more troubleshooting.
