i fixing to buy a a 2005 dodge 5.9 4 door dually has anyone had any problems out of them. i have a duramax now and i pull a 40 ft trailer alot and my dads dodge pulls it better but its a 2007. could anyone tell me about the the trany ive heard the 2004 has problem butnot the 2005?

 

You looking at a auto or a manual?
2005 dodge used 2 different manuals, they started the year with the NV5600. Then mid year went to the G56. Both are good but the G56 OD is a little shorter.

Also in 2005 Dodge went to a intercooler with plastic end caps. Very high failure rates, they quickly went back to the all metal intercoolers. So that is something to look for.

The Auto, I know very little about. Most people from what I heard the trans holds up very well stock.

 

If it has 48re auto trans run like hell the other direction!!!
