poor fuel milage driving up north
I have a 05 cummins. driving around town or on the highway I can pull about 20 to 30 MPG but i was driving up north to go fishing I had a sled trailler with 2 quads and a snowmobile milage was good until we hit temptures below -15 to -20 I went from getting 20 MPG to 9 MPG. I was just wondering if there is anything that i can do to fix this prolbem so it dosnt happen again
Thanks.
Thanks.

30mpg... No but what do you expect your pulling a trailer the motor loves heat and that's hard to maintain at -20 plus you were burning winter blend diesel that does and will affect fuel mileage. There's nothing wrong with the truck just your math at acquiring your fuel mileage. Next time you fill up record the mileage then when you fill up again record the gallons used and tell us what your mileage is.
