Default No start, 2006.

Ok, I am still learning but know enough to be dangerous, .

Truck was towed in, he said its been getting harder and harder to start over the last few months and finally today, temp around 3 deg c, it wouldn't start.

No codes, Scan data looks ok, has crank and cam rpm's, installed fuel pressure gauge inline and has 9-10 psi from the lift pump. I disconnected the FCA and still no start. Pressure according to the scanner is 1260 psi when cranking, FCA hooked up.

I disabled the heaters and tried a bit of ether, it caught a tad but still didn't start.

I cracked a high pressure fuel line at the rail and its weak, it should take my head off, so what tests can I do to verify its the injection pump or ?

Thanks guys.

IIRC, it has 275K on it. I don't think the injectors have been done.

I redid some basic tests yesterday and found the intank pump has no volume, so going to replace that and start again. I bumped into a friend who know's these and said bad lift pumps are notorious for taking out the main pump.

Likely injectors are bad. The 7-9 psi at crank is plenty of pressure to start. What you want to look for is pressure at cruise or heavy load.

Rail pressure at crank is way low, that needs to be up around 3000 psi for a good start. Back to injectors again bypassing too much fuel.

That would make sense as the scanner show's I am building pressure when cranking. I am still going to change the lift pump, its original.
