the 48re is **** my friends, on my 03 cummins i use to have i spent over $12,000 on the transmission and ****. even built up, triple disk billet torque converter, billet shafts, heavy duty bands, aftermarket valve body. it would always shred up. in the end if you are planning on having the truck for awhile, i suggest doing the allison transmission swap or to do a 6 speed swap

Stick with the 48RE driving style will do alot for life. I'm pushing 700+ thru mine and it's been over a year now! The 6 speed and allison can not handle high HP. Call Goerend and get what you need !!

I read some about the Allison and I think I'll stick with a built 48re.
