Default Lift pump pressure too high

I have a 2000 dodge 3500 that I installed a edge juice with attitude on. I had the usual fuel pressure issue once I did that so the first thing I did was get the black Carter pump and install that down on the frame trying to save myself some money. Well that piece of crap would not keep up much better than the stock one. I had a friend that had taken a DDRP off of his pickup he had sold so I picked that up from him. The issue I have now is I have to much fuel pressure. At a idle it runs 22 to 23 pounds and when I am out just cruising down the highway it runs 19 to 20. I know they say you do not want to run that high of fuel pressure on this VP pump. Any ideas of why my pressure is so high and how I can get it down a little bit? Thanks for any info you guys have!!!

Default Fuel Pressure

I'm running the same lift pump and my fp at idle is 24 and running down the road 60 mph It's 20. WOT 17-19. Been that way for two years with no trouble what so ever.

Thanks for the info. I have just heard that over 20 will hurt the pump so it is nice to know it has not hurt yours.

Never really been proven to do damage to the pump, but is known to cause hard starts. I run mine at 20psi @ idle

Default Lift pump pressure high

I guess I am lucky as my Cummins fires off on the first hit every time. I do mix my fuel with the ashless 2 cycle from Wallmart.

Could be the pressure regulating valve in the return line of the VP. They are know to cause multiple issues when they don't work properly. They are around $30, and take 5 minutes to change.
