Torque Coverter life
I just got my T/C replaced with a single disc Billet. What a difference!
What can I do to extend the life? Should I pop it out of drive when at extended stop lights? It wants to go when you take your foot off the brake pedal. Seems like that would wear on it.
What about Trans gauges?

Trans gauge is an excellent idea, need to keep an eye on the temperature.
I put it in Neutral when I am at a long light, reduces the amount of heat produced. Other than generating heat, it won't damage anything.
A valve body is a good idea as well, as said above.

An aftermarket valve body is more than just a good idea, it's a must. Even on that single disc, without the increased line pressure you'll smoke that converter in no time. You can buy a built valve body ready to drop in or do a shift kit yourself.
As for how to extend the life: changing the trans fluid regularly will help everything last a lot longer.
