why is it so bad? i am looking at a tripple disk, shift kit, vavle body upgrades, upgraded clutches with only 20,000 miles on it. for a straight trade...

What year is the truck? Is it 4wd? If so you will need to change the input shaft in the tcase. Drive shafts will need modified 3" each because the auto is shorter. Your cross member is the same. The linkage to the tcase will be too long also. You will need an auto pcm and wiring. Also you will need a flex plate.

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

if both of your trucks are the same wheelbase then swap as much as possible, i think you can just swap the ujoint on the rear shaft on the pinion end. yes you can just swap cases with him and swap linkages. you will need an auto pcm without it the trans will only shift 1-2-3 and will not lock the TC at all. even with it you will likly have to add a relay at the fuse box for the TC lockup to work correctly and that is assuming that the wiring from the pcm to the fuse box already has that wire in it which i would think that it does. the pcm dosnt care if its an SO or HO thats just in the board on the pump.

You would better off buying a different truck if you want a auto.... The work and money involved would be ridiculous!!!! Just keep the manual or trade yours in for something else.... Just some wise advice...
