P1689 - No Communication Between ECM and Injection Pump Module Data link circuit failure between ECM and fuel injection pump. Low power, engine derated, or engine stops.

P0562 - Charging system voltage too low

For the p1689 check your fuel pump relay it could be bad. U could go to advance/autozone or which automotive store is closest and get a new relay and try it before suspecting its the vp44 or ecm. Hope this helps bud

Did you check all your relays and/or fuses? Seems to me like and electrical issue...

I had the same thing happen to me. I was at the store and went to start the truck up and it wouldnt turn over waited alittle while an it fired right up. Alittle ways down the road I lost my rpm guage and then it came back in bout 30 seconds. I also changed the crank shaft sensor and never had a problem since or atleast until the electronics went out on the vp.

The Crank sensor shouldn't effect the AirDog running for such a short time though. ECM fuse perhaps, or the connections on the backside of that fuse.

Inside the cab, far left side of the dash. Door has to be open to access it. #6, I believe.
