Default 02' Fuel sending unit

My fuel gauge is reading around 13 when it's empty......I am installing an inline lift pump tonight and wanted to change the sending unit. The local Dodge dealer says the sending unit is no longer made for trucks that don't have the "pump in the in tank" fuel pump modification....I did not install the in tank pump because everyone says they suck...Anyone else run into this?

I got a leveling unit witch controls the gauge it has 2 screws that hold it onto the side of the unit that goes into the tank I got it from a local dodge dealer. At first they told me they couldn't get it but there was a tech note in the computer when looking up the part it only shows one unit an in tank pump. They opened the tech note and there was my leveling unit it was 55 dollars. They said the unit was the same for 97 to 02 trucks with no in tank pump. Hope this helps

Modified liberty fuel module

This is another option. It is more money, but will allow for high HP applications in the future. If my sending unit goes out, I will get one.

the liberty canister wasnt actually to expensive, its what i did for mine than i built in a return for the FASS return, it takes a little shaving of the edge on the top for the screw on ring to go on, and you have to take your fuel level arm off of your old canister and isntall it on your liberty canister if you do because they are different lengths.

I'd let them know that. Not only are they loosing a sale, but they are also looking bad as their staff is not up to date.
