Anyone install one of these (Cummins Flat Pump Gear Access Hole Cover

I broke my pump gear cover setting the valve lash in the winter and I have the tube just glued to it. The problem is that the truck needs to vent so while it would be nice to have a flat cover; I would need to tap the valve cover to let it vent correct? Any thoughts or opinions on the venting procedure would be helpful. Right now I'm thinking if it ain't broke don't fix it...
