Default whats your trans temp

hey i just put a trans temp gauge on my truck last night and drove it around and it was right under 220. what are you guys getting?

it put the sencer on the port farthest from the engine.

220!? that's pretty high... I barely ever see 140

i must have mine in a different place than you because i was seeing just about 220 and i hadnt really hammered on it at all

Mine is a 5 speed and I see around 150-180.

My auto is 120 on a 40 degree day and and pulling a load of cattle 150 degrees. I also have a upgraded cooler.

Is your temp probe into the pan or a blind hole in the case? My EJWA kit goes into a blind hole in the case and temps seem a bit high (200-220 on a summer day). I recently changed fluid/filter and adjusted bands and the old fluid wasnt burnt or discolored.
