Question COULD SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS??

I posted this on another forum on the site and got a few replies. Thanks for the ones who did!! I asked if smoke coming from the crank case tube and a little oil dripping out was normal? If so, how much smoke is normal? Because it pretty much pours out of my tube. At times, sitting at a stop light. It looks like my truck could possible be on fire, LOL.
Also, what causes this? The heavy smoking that is!
Thanks for ya'll's help!!!!!!

Your rings on your piston are shot. It is normal to have some blow by but what you are describing is excessive blow by. I would start thinking about doing an overhaul on the ole girl.

Only other reason to get that much blow by (compression blowing past the sealing surfaces) is valve stem seals. Essentially, Compression and/or combustion gases are leaking past the piston rings and/or valve stem seal and causing excessive pressure in the crankcase. Unfortunately for you, a rebuild is very close in you future. The longer you wait, the more it will cost.

Dosn't make sense for rings to be shot at 177K unless it hasn't been maintained as far as oil level and change intervals. What are you running for oil ?

If it has idled a lot over its life then it wouldn't be surprising that the rings are shot at 177K

I'm running 15w-45 for oil. Since i've had the truck I've changed the oil every 5,500 miles or sooner. Now the truck manual says 11 qts if i can remember and my haynes manual says 10 qts. when i put 11 qts like the factory manual says, its a taste over full. Im also running lucas in the oil. Could that be doing it?

I personally have not liked what I've seen inside an engine that had run Lucas, like big globs of tar
