I am looking at a 01 2500 tranny for real cheap but I am wondering if it will fit in my 99 350 cummins dually. It is out of a gas truck and is a 4 wheel drive tranny and t-case with it. Dose any one if his will fit, and if it will even hold up??? I do NO hauling with the truck, no up grades as of yet just a good ol stocker with 324,000. Thanks guys

 

if its out of a v10 it will work but a 360 or 318 it wont. the v10's and diesels use the 47re, and the 360's and 318's use the 46re. The bellhousings are different so it wouldnt even bolt up.

and internally the 46re's are weaker then the 47re's

 

even the v-10 needs modified to work for a diesel there are some differences plus the electronics are some what different between 99 and 01

 

better off just re building your current transmission
