Don't do it bud by the looks of it you got a pretty sweet truck and you just can't beat the sound of a cummins! but if you do keep it up for sale ask high on it so you have less chance of selling it and if you do get it sold for the high price atleast you will be a little mire pleased.

Before you rush to a Duramax ....try to see how much space you have under the hood to get at components, do maintenance, etc.

If you are a DIYer ...the Duramax is not as friendly (unless you have small hands or like scraping your knuckles!!)

If I could I beat you over the head with a 2x4, But Durmaxs are great is the racing world not so great in the Ranchin world. They are more epensive to maintain and repair, and more of a pain to work on. Also think of this I can buy all six injectors for my cummins compared to one D max injector. Plus it a japanese engine. Plus if you break down somewhere in the Cummins the near by auto store bout damn near garrunteed to have the part you need...

I would say out here in CO, it go for 10-12K in Pheonix someone porable pay 15-18K

Plus it a japanese engine
i dont know why i see this stated so much, lots of miss information

the engine was designed by GM in collaboration with Isuzu. it is built in the states by GM not japan. there is probably just as many parts in the cummins and power stroke engines that come from foreign countries as in the duramax

that being said i would stick with the truck you have now. the duramax is a great engine and easy to make power with but it also has its down sides too. if you add it all up each engine has just as many pros and cons as the other. it all boils down to personal preference and what you are familiar with. price can be a factor too.

my 3 cents

Jason
