Another vp44 questions

The 1693 code is not a vp44 related code, but you do need a pusher pump with either needle valve or snubber because glowshift sending units are weak you'll burn it up no time... Run airdog, raptor, or fass pump with drawstraw 2 you won't need to remove the intank pump. Dropping the tank is so simple, I'd advise that route.
Hit up diesel dawgs for the airdog, I just did some business with Luke he's a great guy.

Got the fuel electronic fuel pressure gauge in today, finally driving my new truck with a little less fear (still nervous though). Had the sender installed at the bottom of the filter, line out to IP, which was reading 8 at initial startup and runs 10 after topping off fuel with bio additive.
Here is another question. The pressure started fluctuating between 12-14 while idling in gear for a little and during deceleration, is this to be of concern? When I demand power, it's between 6&7 psi. I haven't gotten to the highway yet.

Forgot to mention, it runs smoother and quieter than before. How do I tell if the computer is upgraded on the IP? I also confirmed that the shop did not remove the codes as it will clear with normal operation.
