2nd gen. cant switch the from the defrost to any other position. blower motor is less than a year old and blows fine. heat and air work very good. Could this be the vacuum pump or something else?

I have a oil leak coming from that area also, could this be the problem??

 

Defrost is the default setting if the vacuum is removed from the HVAC system. I would be more suspicious of a vacuum line disconnected then a failed pump at this time. Does you 4x4 or cruise work? They are both vacuum controlled/assisted.

 

i need to check the 4x4, but the cruise dont work either......?

 

I suggest looking for a detached line near the vacuum pump it's self. It probably just became disconnected.

cool i just replaced the driver wheel bearing and had to put it in the 4x4 to get it off and maybe i blew one off then. i hope it aint the pump.
