Driving through the mountains in northern cali and southern oregon my truck started acting funny for about 10 miles while pulling a 10k trailer. I made it the rest of the way up and it seems to be running fine now but i had a p0216 code pop, any advice or just replace pump?

 

Possibly send it out to have it tested? if thats possible for you..

 

ya i wont be able to test it, gotta drive back to mississippi from oregon then i leave the country for awhile so it'll just sit till i get back. i was having problems with trying to power brake it and it cutting out then soon as i let off the brake it'd take off like crazy.

 

Weird thing is that i had the same issue. I had a bad vp when it would do it. i just changed it two days ago and it still does it...I have a thread posted about it...but a 216 is an internal timing issue. I would probibly say its a safe bet its going out...check my thread And see if its like your situation. im still trying to figure it out

 

my lift pump died while i was driving one day so i replaced it with an airdog but i figured it would be going out anyhow
