OH nice so autozone can scan it too? If it's this easy, I bet this idiot fried his IP and is hiding it from me

It's gonna be the vp. Mines does the same thing. But do check the fuel pressure.

Edge has a download of all the codes and meanings on their website

just cycle the key 3 times and the info center will list the codes

So your pretty sure the truck will need a new vp? Will verifying fuel pressure tell me that the vp is getting weak?

Yes FP will give you a good idea that the LP is shot. You need to see FP no less then 10psi to keep a healthy IP.

The owner is telling me that he runs the truck at 15psi with the new LP and Airtex...

After two lift pumps, and the occasional starvation, the VP is headed South, and fast. Also on the APPS, it is adjustable, but with it's age, it'll likely fall out of spec again. New VP44, APPS, and a better lift pump. See what he thinks of an offer - $3000.
