Default Ideal Towing Mods?

I apologize if this has been beat to death and covered in multiple threads. I recently bought a 99 Dodge Cummins. (Details in sig) Its pretty much stock. The transmission is in good shape and shifts nice, but its stock. I bought the truck to tow my Toyota rock crawler which I guess to weigh about 4k and my trailer 1200lbs? This kinda what I have put together as a plan in order.

1. Upgrade lift pump- AD 165
2. Monitor to watch paramiters of the truck- Edge (No tune)
3. single disc TC, and VB

I have read that the stock turbo on a 24v is good for about 350hp, I dont plan to go much past that. Will the things above be a good start? I am on a budget (well as much as posable with a diesel). So I want to beef up what needs to be beefed BEFORE I add power.

Very smart decision, it costs less that way. Your list looks good, but I would look into a couple things.
Go from a Edge Insight (Monitor only) to a EJWA CS. Despite being close to double the money, it allows for future power. It also has a turbo timer, and back downs, the Insight does not.
Look into the cost difference between single and triple disc T/C's. A little more money now could prevent you from spending double later.

The stock HY35 does its job on stock engines, but has it's limitations. Upgrading to a HX35 ($300ish used) helps reduce drive pressure and offers a few psi more boost.

EJWA CS = Edge Juice With Attitude right? When I said "Edge" this is what I ment. On the web page it says it IS "Expandable". I assume this is what you are talking about getting?

How is single disc going to act vs a triple disc? I understand that the triple will handle more horse power, but wouldn't that be like putting a super heavy duty racing clutch on a stock car? whats it going to shift like compared to a stock, or single disc clutch?

If you dont mind, would you please briefly go into the limitations of the HY35. I would like to upgrade to the HX35, but since my truck is stock I have a little ways to go before that happens.

Thanks for the advise!

Correct, and the CS is Color Screen.
When they say expandable, they are referring to adding Edge Accessory System sensors. The EAS add on's can be found here.

When is comes to T/C's, more disc's spread the torque out. I didn't notice much of a difference in shifting when I got my triple installed.

This thread has some good information between the HY's and HX's.

No, I was thinking of the other ones.
EJWA CS

EJWA CTS

They are more money, but you get way more bang for the buck.
