VP 44 Help
Ok i am posting this for my friend. He will be a member as soon as i get him to stop being in the stone age .
He has a 2001 ho 6 speed cummins and we are so confused on what injection pump to get his final died after running a comp box, stacks ,cold air and running her hard. He is going to add a fass with the injection pump this time since his lift pump caused this mess.
I am hearing from racers that have some serious hp in there trucks not to was the money on the hotrod vp 44 and to just get the vp44 stock one it will handle alot and is a waste to get the hotrod vp44 anyone add some more light here.

ya i could see useing the hotrod for a 1000hp sled pulling truck or something but he probley will be pushing the 500 hp mark when all done thats about it if that. If anyone knows and get this resolved before tuesday 22 of nov. when we go to the shop to get one. It would be great to save money if money can be saved.

I've asked for years for some Dyno readings showing the difference between these pumps and nobody has posted up yet that I have seen. Until then I don't believe in em myself. That pump can only send so much flow through the injectors so the amount of fuel going through is gonna depend on the injectors and not the pump pushing it. Just my unedemacated opinion.

This is the guy that told me this. he is from Zimmys Diesel Performance. He has a pretty wicked 1999 ho and there number is 1-866-867-1644. They are a large dealer of BD but they have it all. He might have the dyno sheets on it. I will find out and scan them to really see. But I just dont know what to tell my friend. This one seems to be a he/she said type question.

Did you talk to Delton at Zimmeys?
A HO Pump is a loss at 550, a HRVP is a great idea but dosent seem to make any true power, Lots stand behind the pump, but the money is best spent elsewhere! The HRVP44 is almost in the same boat as a HO, Not to mention basicly dose the same thing a wire tap box dose, only with the electronics built in, Your friend already has a Comp, Leave it be and go with a SO pump!
