2001 47RE Slipping in Left Hand Turns

I normally just lurk on the website but I have come up on a problem with my 01 3500. I searched the threads for something similar but didn't find anything, sorry if this has been asked a thousand times. The trans is starting to slip but it only happens when I am in a left hand turn. I recently changed the fluid/filter and the fluid level is normal. I am showing ECM codes P0122 and P1698, I don't think either of these are really related to my issue. Is there something I am missing? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Are you positive its a trans slip?

cartboy 09-24-2011 01:30 PM

As far as I can tell it is, the engine revs and the truck doesn't pick up speed and then it will grab and jerk forward.

sounded like rearend at first but not to sure on that. Limited slip maybe kicking in hard?

does it do it when its cold or hot? mine will do it if its been sitting, and if i take off heavy on a turn. i was told that the trans oil pump cant lift the oil out of the pan when cold on a turn because theres not enough in there for it to suck when cold. causing it to act like it goes in and out of gear.

it happens when it is cold and when its hot. my first thought was that it was low on fluid, so i checked it again, it is at a normal level.

And your sure the filter is sealed against the vb well? All the vb wiring is intact?

cartboy 09-25-2011 10:12 AM

i looked over the wiring when i had the pan and filter off to change it. it appeared to be in place and i didn't find any wiring that looked mashed or messed up. the filter was tight against the valve body when i replaced it, i tried to wiggle it to make sure it was seated and tight. i plan to do the filter and fluid again after i finish hauling firewood for this year and check the adjustment on the bands as well. I won't do that for another month or so though.

Did this start with the fluid filter replacement or was.it the reason for the replacement

cartboy 09-25-2011 10:17 AM

it was the reason for the replacement. I really hoped that it would help the issue but it still does the same thing.
