Exhaust choice
I;m wanting to change my exhaust on my stock 2001.4in or would I benefit 5in? I'll do air filter mod too,any mods I doo will be for milage really have enough power for what I do.I also don't want it to be horribly loud.
i just got rid of my 4". It was a muffler delete is all so it was only four inch from where the muffler was back. It was loud and did not sound very clean. i just got 5" with a 4" down pipe after my exhaust brake and it sounds much cleaner. The 5 does have a muffler but like most diesel mufflers its straight through just there to get rid of the pop and drone. i should have done 5 from the begining. Helps a bit with EGT's too. I would say go five inch and be done. Mine was 700$ installed, had to cut it up for the banks brake.
$700^^^ man what kit did you get mine was 400 installed!
Any ways Im planing on getting a muffler some time soon for it... And its sounds great on my auto

also I got to keep my full size spare with my 5 inch setup

5" sounds so much better, I made my own 4" (because I'm cheap) and it dumps out before the rear wheels on pass. side without a muffler..... if I have nothing else I have the loudest Cummins around
