IPVREX VP44 PUMP??
Has anybody seen or heard about this pump before? There is a sticker on it that says "IPVREX" on top of pump. Did a search....links to thoroughbred diesel....is this considered a hotrod pump, and if so, could it cause a stumble/misfire at idle, low rpms? Just bought this truck and really dont have much history on it.

turbo20psi, thanks......was wondering why they are selling that pump for almost 2x cost of stock vp44? Add'l. h.p.? Guess i will try calling thoroughbred tomorrow and see what kind of info they can give me. just trying to track down this "misfire" sound after warmup. Dont know if injectors have been swapped....or camshaft either. Truck does pull good....no miss or stumble under load at all, very little smoke at w.o.t. Everything seems good, but the idle has got me stumped.

Bacon......not lopey.....more like intermittent miss at idle. You can put truck in gear and let clutch out just enough to "load" the engine and it purrs purrfectly. ??? But...at idle it will "miss" until you run the rpm's up til say 1500 and then it will smooth out. This is of course after it has generated a little heat. Cold start = no miss. Hellifino' Just bugs the heck outta me....maybe vp electric voodoo box???

My truck is equipped with that same pump. Yes it a HO pump, but mine has been modified by thorough bred diesel making it a hot rod pump. If the truck has a lope at idle thats normal. thats the pump lope. Its just going about its job. mine has 150hp injectors and smoothes out bout 1600 rpm them starts again at 2000 rpm.
