need help p0216
got a 02 2500 5.9.was driving down highway and it shut off,dropped it in 4th and popped clutch turned back on then died.dropped it in third it fired up ran a little then died.got it towed home got code p0216.done some searching but came up empty

p0216 injector pump timing failure...ie (vp44) Not sounding good.. What are you lift pump pressures? stock lift pump? Did you have an extended crank brfore this happend? Mine did ... changed lift and inj. pump and all is good. Good luck pt

You didnt search very hard. P0216 is one of the death codes for the VP-44 and theres HUNDREDS of pages here on that very topic. It very much sounds like you have a dead injector pump. You have a fuel pressure gauge?
