I HAVE A 2001 DODGE 24V CUMMINS. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE THE LOCATION OF THE CRANK SENSOR IS.I BOUGHT IT BUT CAN'T FIND A HOME FOR IT.TACH SIGNAL DROPS OCCATIONALY BUT ZERO PERFORMANCE/MILEAGE PROBS. MY CRUISE QUIT WORKING JUST BEFORE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TACH WENT WAKO. THANKS GUY'S

 

'01 doesn't have a crank sensor only a cam sensor behind the IP.

I've been reading a lot of conflicking answers here.some say behind the pump "cam sensor" or behind the starter (crank sensor) I'm going to look at both areas in the am. thier both obscure places I'm sure is why we couldn't find it. Thanks buddy !

 

the cam sensor is behind the injector pump tough to get at deep socket etc required to get it.put one in my 01
