Default No power

Hello, My 01 cummins loses power @ 1200 RPMs and power doesn't kick back in until it reaches 2200 RPMs or about 55 MPH in 4th gear. In 5th gear it kicks in @ about 2000 RPMs.
It seems like the turbo is not functioning between these engine speeds but it never kicks in in 1st - 3rd gears. Had it scaned this morning @ Advance Auto and the code P0237 (MAP sensor low voltage). When I check it with the ignition switch it shows P1693 as well as the P0237. This problem started when my starter began clicking several times before it would crank the engine. Replaced starter and that cleared the p1682 code that I had before starter replacement. Any Ideas? Newbe, Hope im in the right section! Oh yeah, I replaced the VP44 two monthes ago and installed a new FASS lift pump and have replaced my fuel filter twice since.

bout has to be a fuel issue. no fuel = no boost and no rpms.

Default fuel?

If it was a fuel issue, why does it kick in at 2200 RPMs?

Scan it for codes?

What is your Fuel pressure?

Do you still have the stock lift pump?

sounds like a map sensor to me, call me crazy, but if your map has a "dead range", it will not add fuel if it doesn't see any boost pressure. therefore, you are going to have a pretty weak engine if you are not in the right boost range. I would start there.

Onboard scan P1693 and P0237, I checked the voltage on the MAP sensor, 5vdc supply, 1vdc at idle and 3vdc at full throttle. I've been told that means MAP sensor's OK. I checked the throttle position sensor also it ranges from .5vdc at idle to 3.5vdc at full throttle. I installed a FASS lift ump back in April when I replaced the VP44, so I have not given much thought to fuel pressure.

2vdc at full throttle

1693 btw, is just a companion code between the two computers where one is telling the other that there has been a fault code set.
1682 says your (charging system voltage too low)

In my experience with under-supplying electronics with proper voltage or amperage, it can be very detrimental. your vp44 has fragile electronics to start with... did you check your alternator to rule that out? there is always a possibility of ecm or pcm failure, not to rule out the worst yet.

Had my alternator checked at Advance Auto. They said it's good but personally I think 13.9 volts is a little low for alt output. What do you think?
