wacky gauge cluster
My oil pressure gauge and fuel gauge are all messed up. The oil pressure automatically shoots up to 60 when the key is turned to the run position, and sometimes when its running it will drop to zero making the “Check Gauges” light come on, After running it for a little bit it goes back up to 60. The next issue is the fuel gauge. It reads correctly every once in a while, but it spends most of its time pegged on full. I’ve scanned truck for codes, no codes, and did the gauge cluster check when u hold in the trip odometer button down. Any ideas to what I can do it fix these issues. Mainly the fuel gauge because I’d hate to run it empty.
On the fuel gauge it is more than likely the sender on the sending unit itself is goin T.U. That is how my fuel gauge has been for about 2 years in my truck. And for the oil pressure I would say that is probably the sender as well.
thats what i was thinking or it was grounding out somewhere and making the needle read full peged. i put some fuel in it, and its reading correctly as of now.... do you know if theres a way to test the o.p sensor, and if i remove it will oil poor out of the hole on the side of the block?
