Default How much power?

I have a bone stock 2001 Dodge 2500 with auto trans that is stock and I have put a K N air filter on it and I am going to put a magnaflow 4" exhaust turbo back. The factory specs say that it has 235 hp and 460 tq right now. Does anyone know about how much I should expect to get from adding the air filter and the 4" exhaust?

At sea level....maybe 10hp, 20 at most. All a k and n intake will really do is help spool and get more air in and the exhaust will just helpexhuast flow pretty much. Don't expect a huge increase in power with just an intake and exhaust imo

Agree....make sure you get a fuel pressure gauge to keep an eye on FP. That is the main killer of IP's. I would recommend a Airdog or FASS lift pump.

Default Thank you

Thanks for your help, Yeah I did not think that it would increase hp by much just wanted to get an idea. I plan to add an edge ez chip later it has 3 setting. This is the first diesel that I have ever owned and it has more than enough power right now for what I do, the max I will pull is 7000lbs. The main reason I am going with the K&N, 4" exhaust, and the edge is for fuel mileage. I am getting about 16 around town and 20 on the highway. The truck came with 305-70-16s and I am going to put the factory size tires back on it, the sticker says it had 265-75-16s, and yes I have a GPS I calculated the difference in tire size when I figured fuel mileage. About the fuel pressure gauge light I have been thinking about getting something to let me know if the pressure is low, I have already looked at the prices of IP for this truck NOT CHEAP

Don't get a fuel pressure warning light get the gauge that way you can find out how low of a pressure you really got.

K&N = junk in my opinion, I ran them on 3 trucks, the oil sucked out of them bad, even straight from the factory, got all in the turbo and intercooler and on one truck it even got to the grid heaters and started a fire which luckily I managed to get out quickly but had to replace the rubber boots, manifold, grid heaters and wiring and even the map and IAT sensors as they were melted in the fire.

I'd get rid of the K&N, they are worthless on turbo'd apps in my opinion, go with a AFE Pro-dry or some other non-oiled filter. As for power gain, you might, might see 10 hp but not from just a filter drop, to see that, you really need the complete air intank kit.
