Alright i bought a 99 5 spd and when i shift into third it grinds. but if i end up double clutching it goes in fine kinda. everyother gear is fine any oppinions on this would help.

X3 on syncros. While your doing the sycros might want to just do some upgrades on the trans while its out if your going to add power and save some time down the roa

 

I have the same thing going on. I'm looking for a cheap 6spd. The trick to get it into 3rd w/o grinding is to double clutch, hit the throtte and about 1 second after you hit the throttle throw it into 3rd. It works nearly everytime for me.

What happens if you keep driving it? Tranny shops want $1400, but I can get the kit for $360. I'm trying to hold out and save for a 6spd...

why do you say that? Should I just try to get a G56 and somehow make that work?
