Vehicle Speed Sensor only works in the rain
The speed sensor on my 1999 truck is not working, but starts up in heavy rain. I have the usual brake and ABS lights on due to it not working. I checked all the wiring and the sensor itself, which was supposedly brand new. It looks new so I doubt it is my problem. I am guessing the water gets in somewhere there is a short and makes the connection so it starts to work. I just can't find that particular place. Code P0501 is present.
Anyone else have this problem? I'm going to drop it off at the local auto electric place in the next few days to have it checked out if i still can't resolve the problem. I'll post the fix so if anyone else has this issue; they will have some idea about what to do.

The shop says it was a broken wire in the connector goes to the VSS on the rear diff, which makes sense as people pull those things out by the wires when they disconnect them sometimes. If anyone else has this problem; take apart that connector first. A few more things to fix and it will be a decent truck.
