well i have a 01 powerstroke but im going to sell it i was thinking about getting a cummins but i have heard alot about the auto trannys are they any good or not i dont want to but a cummins and then blow the tranny 4 months later and have to drop another 4k so i have been looking for a standard trans are they still strong

 

as long as you dont add much power to them, there are ok. a good TC and VB will hold 400+ though.

 

would i be better off with a auto or manual

 

Manual.... but it depends on what you like.

 

a manual is deff stronger. and cheaper to upgrade the cluth than it is to upgrade trans in an auto. clutch ur lookin at around 600 for a big single disk to 1500-2000 for a dual disk that will hold all u can throw at it. for an auto, ur lookin at bout 2 grand in just the TC and VB. to get a full billet trans ur lookin at 6k+
