P1693 is the companion code - it tells you another code has been set - you will need an OBDII scanner or a smarty to see what it is.

Do you have a FP guage?

unfortunately doc...no fp gauge...I think the pump is going south...what conditions should I look for? dad doesn't believe me about this kinda stuff...maybe when he replaces an ip he'll believe me.

All the posts OVER THERE on this topic and you still DIDNT listen....

I hope this doesnt cost him an injection pump....he too needs to start listening because this could be expensive.

Usually a bad VP-44 will be hard to start when warm (but start good when its cold), and blows white smoke.

well none of that...I'll bug the **** out of him to get a pusher pump...any thing you guys would recommend thats under 100 dollars?

EDIT: I really want to get a pump before a gauge...can afford one or the other right now. rather get the pump...I'm glad mine is so simple.. but I drove it today...88 degrees outside...drove 10 miles to walmart...got out for about 10 minutes came out...fired right up. No smoke, no dead pedal. What other codes could this be though? I'm going to take it to autozone tomorrow to get em checked. I was stressed out beyond relief today. Dad is a disabled vet so funds are tight and I've been worrying about it. Between getting our land/house refied and this I haven't slept and I'm not hungry.
