I searched around here and found that will usually cause a starting problem. The truck starts great even in the cold weather...I read the post were you said to check the connector I did that i seems good....Do you think that could be causing my popping??

have you checked valve lash? or is it not that kind of pop? i had a couple valves 30 thousants out of place and it was makin some noise but i fixed it and it works like a champ. it also cuased me to misfire and blow my headgasket (i was told by a cummins mechanic) if that helps any. make sure to get new thermastat when u change the head gasket also it costs a bit but its worth it in the end from what ive been told good luck hope this helped
