Default getting codes again.

Hello all, I just replaced the VP44 and lift pump system on my truck like four weeks ago. Everything was running fine no problems, then today I went to drive it and it was acting a little weird, then when I stopped I started the truck up and it ran fine, but stalled when I pulled away, it restarted no problem. The check engine light came on and I checked codes with the key on-off-on-off-on method and got codes P1693 and P1689. I have a edge EZ on it that's all, and the lift pump is an Airdog 150. Can anyone tell me what I am to do?

P1689 (M) No Communication Between ECM
and Injection Pump Module
Data link circuit failure between ECM and fuel injection
pump. Low power, engine derated, or engine stops

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine
control module.

First check the connections on the injection pump.

OK. I will try it. Now last night the check engine light went out and it runs fine. I hope this doesn't end up being a ongoing problem.

well on tuesday, we pulled my uncle's new/used 07 cummins home on a trailer, when we took off everything was fine, got to the first stop sign, slowed down and got a dead pedal. restarted the truck and evrything was fine for the two hour ride home. I an at a loss here. Any help would be great. all connections looked good. Could it be the edge EZ?

Well after cleaning all connections and not finding the problem. I finally just pulled out the Edge EZ chip i had. Truck runs fine with no problems now. So I guess I spent $1500 on new pumps for nothing. wEll I guess i got better pumps out of it. Now I need a new chip.
