hard start fuel problem?
ok i got a 98 24valve,i have checked all the lines and no leaks also has a pusher pump upgrade and newer ip with prolly 75k on it truck has 230-240k total. problem is truck is hard starting when cold as if fuel bled back to the tank cranks 30 seconds and starts , hot or recently running it starts as it should. i have had several mechanics look at it. My question is could the connector tubes, could they be leaking air back into the line inside the motor? no extra oil is being made and no excess smoke parked it on ramps to keep tank above ip and nothing different any ideas?
have you checked the overflow return valve? sometimes they can stick open and lead to hard starts. its on the return line right next to the inlet on the vp44. plug the little hole on the side of the valve and try to blow though it with little pressure.
when were the injectors added and who made them. also when checking lines check the incoming line from the tank and the overflow line coming out of the ip for air it could be mixing air in at some point. while running just crack them loose to see if air bubbles come out.
