i had a wierd noise under my truck for about a month and the carrier baring finaly went out and now that ive replaced it with a moog its now making a strange noise thats not like the noise it had before it went out... usualy if im accelerating or decelerating. a high pitch whine is what the noise is now...anybody have an idea? thanks!

 

dont know what it is but i get an odd sound from mine every once in a while. whats the carrier bearing i havent heard about it and i'm fairly new to diesel trucks

 

carrier bearing is the bearing in the middle of the 2 rear driveshafts.

to the OP:

check your u-joints for play, when the needles inside of them start to wear, sometimes they will make a whining sound

 

Are you sure its not coming from your Diff? Might want to check your lash in your ring and pinion or you might have an axle bearing going out check the fluid for any metal frag.
