I would suggest putting a quadzilla programmer on your truck i did on mine and it was unbelievable how much power gain there. I have not had any problems with it but whatever programmer you do get you need to get a new lift pump for sure.

#1, Fuel pressure gauge and most likely
#2, Aftermarket lift pump.
After that, it sounds like you are on the right track. Exhaust, intake, and a performance adder. One you start adding power though, that auto WILL let go. A aftermarket valve body and torque converter are a minimum.
As blue24 was saying, an Edge Juice with Attitude will give you a set of gauges as well. I just put a EJWA CTS in my truck, and it has A LOT more features then my original Attitude monitor.

Gauges, good lift pump and start saving for a auto.Don't let that worry you.Once you get the bug the stick guys will be left in the back and it doesn't take much.

Not to be a downer or anything but check the 53 Block. IF you haven't already bought the pickup offer bout 2500 less if it does have the 53 cast number. These blocks can crack leading to a big repair or complete engine replacement. Just my $.02
