So it will shift, just not move in any direction but backwards? If so, It's for sure an internal issue and running the truck is doing nothing but making things worse. Seriously doubt that it would be shift rail related with how your describing it. Couldnt really understand if you ment it would go IN gear and not move or wouldnt go in any gear but reverse.

it will sit in gear like it will go in gear but release clutch and wont move. in 6th gear if i push really hard to the right it grinds a little. its not clutch/slave problem reverse works great lmao

It for sure an internal failure. Avoid running the truck if at all possible to avoid further damage. It's even possible with a manual trans to have a catastrophic failure if parts have "dropped" which would equate to a damaged and unrepairable case. And that leaves you with a healthy core. Until it's disassembled there's no way to know whats causing your problem.

Nope, sounds like you have a mainshaft issue or a counter shaft issue. NV4500 would loose 5th gear nut and loose 5th gear all together.

I've personally only heard of this happening one time in a 5600 and it was because of power shifting,"no clutch used shifting".
