Default Gearing

Had the truck up in the air the other day, and while i was there I got curious about my gearing. So marked drive shaft, and tire. I had one guy hold one tire, and made sure i was fully engaged between drive shaft and rotating tire. anyway 2 rotations of drive shaft gave me on rotation of tire. That seemed rather strange to me.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

the diffs have been re sealed and the tag on the rear is turned backwards when it was put back on

you have to turn the tires at the same time. just unbolt the the tag and look it's not going to make the cover leak.

On a 01 it has a tag in the glovebox that tells you everything in the powertrain

Sounds like you got 3.55 gears and 60 front axle and 70 rear axle. It should be turning about 1600 at 60 mph or somewhere close to that.

I have yet to have my spedo recalibrated for my 37 inch tires, but I was doing 70 and rpms were around 1800 to 1900. But I'm thinking I was actually doing about 75.
