hey guys, my buddy was towing his camper back across the state and the 5th gear nut came off and hes had it in the shop and put new bearings in the tranny, fixed the nut issue and now the truck keeps poping out of fifth every once in a while for some reason, need some advice on the issue because the trucks about to be sold to me, the truck is a 1998.5 with a manual 5 speed, thanks!

 

i would check for binding, maybe they didn't reasemble it correctly.

 

they've had it apart and put it back together a few times, basically the whole tranny is new all except for the main shaft,new 5th gear, new bearings, new upgraded 5th gear nut, new shim kit, new syncronizers and still when putting the pedal to the floor and then lifting ur foot off the gas, on deacceleration it pops out of 5th, theyve had a few others go over and they cant seem to figure out whats going on
