P 7100 question
How reliable is a denso p7100 injection pump and is it worth my 400 bucks brand new

They are on eBay if you could look at them and let me know if it's worth my money I would appreciate it and if it's not would you happen to know where one is at a decent price

There are a few different models of Ppump used on 6B engines.
here is a short break down of the #s:
215hp is 887 and 913/908
180hp is 885 and 911 (I think a 912 is an CA 180 pump)
160/175hp is 838/841/854.
PES6P110A120RS7213
PES6P -Denotes number of cylinders and Basic Pump Model
110 -Denotes B&P Size
A120RS -Denotes Cam rotation direction (Cummins is Right)
7213 -Denotes Pump series (2000, 3000, 7000, etc)

has 11mm barrels (too small) to use on our trucks.

I would stick with the correct Ppumps for our engines if only to save the headache of finding compatible parts later like lines, linkage, ect. Many of the pumps on ebay are junk, some are even marked as "cores only".
For the inexperienced, it is best to buy one from a 94-98 12v Dodge truck. that way there are no surprises. The later 96+ stick trucks have the most sought after pumps for racing cores (worth the most) but the 96-98 autos have IMO the best combo of parts between the cam and barrels. ANY of them is more durable than a VP, and with the right tuning can out perform it too.
