Sorry to hear you are not thrilled with your truck, but the stock auto trannies on the Dodge trucks suck big time. I would suggest looking elsewhere than ATS, there are better options IMO. If you intend to keep the truck a while, I would highly suggest getting a built tranny (valve body, torque converter,etc...). You probably won't need the billet shafts, and they are not cheap. Once your tranny is squared away, you can do all the BOMBS you want without too many concerns.
I have an '02 auto with a full Goerend tranny and I couldn't be happier with it, other than the fact that I hate autos...

powerstrokes are a joke compared to the cummins until the 6.4 psd anyway, power is way easier and more reliable in a cummins a few simple mods to the trans and it should be good to go, torque converter, valve body, and billet input shaft and you should be good to go

Yes the STOCK Dodge autos are a joke. I have a full built Goerend as well and couldn't be happier. There customer service and knowledge is second to non. Avoid ATS.

400hp is nothing to worry about with a basic built tranny; as to what you need exactly kind of depends on who you go with. 400hp is relatively easy with a 12V, and it can be done on the cheap. If the KDP hasn't been taken care of, that needs to be your absolute top priority. It's not a matter of if, but when...
