FIRST CUMMINS AND HATE IT
Sold my 97 powerstroke and bought a 98 cummins with 120k miles on it this truck has no power compared to my powerstroke. what is up with the dodge auto trans it feels like it slips at take off and it dose not want to down shift going up a hill. The trans has about 15k miles on it all stock what needs to bedone to the trans to help it? or should i put a ats in it I looked and they are about 5k. the truck is all stock, but I am afraid to do anythihg with this crappy trans.Is thier any upgrades I can do to the stocker to help the shift points and the slipping when i take off I REGRET GETTING RID OF THE POWERSTROKE..........HELP FIRST CUMMINS AND I HATE IT......

Sorry to hear you are not thrilled with your truck, but the stock auto trannies on the Dodge trucks suck big time. I would suggest looking elsewhere than ATS, there are better options IMO. If you intend to keep the truck a while, I would highly suggest getting a built tranny (valve body, torque converter,etc...). You probably won't need the billet shafts, and they are not cheap. Once your tranny is squared away, you can do all the BOMBS you want without too many concerns.
I have an '02 auto with a full Goerend tranny and I couldn't be happier with it, other than the fact that I hate autos...

what converter should i get will it be safe on the stock trans how about a valvebody. how long will the stock trans last with htese upgrades. I would like to have 400hp. is that possible with the 12v sorry about all the questions. with 121k miles when do i need to do the kdp?
