Hey guys, i have a 1999 ctd and my fuel pump and lift pump went out on me! I found the pumps i want but i need to know if my "99" is an early "99'' or late "99" how can i tell? i was told that if i take the fuel filter off from the bottom its a early 99 is this true? thx guys

 

just look at the vin... what pumps are you gonna go with. hopefully you have a fp gauge?

 

The pumps are all the same for a 99.

 

im going with a vp44 and a Original airdog 100 ghp with 40-60hp injectors! and i do have a fp gauge. thx guys

well ya you'll notice a difference in power from a working pump to a shot pump...LOL......shouldn't smoke more then a stock truck does well maybe some with the injectors it would.

 

If you're doing injectors you might be able to get a air dog 150 for a few extra bucks....just a thought and would probably be worth it if your planning more mods.

 

thx guys!! i dont think im going to do anymore mods, i wasnt going to get injectors but i found a really good deal so i got that! will i get the full 65hp? i have a edge EZ so it gives me 65hp already. but with that and the pumps and injectors i have will i feel like it has more power? and will i see more smoke cause i know i will def have more cause it already smokes alittle! (smoke is good!) the injectors are BD performance. thx 4 your help guys!

 

You should get whatever the injectors are rated for. Some are a bit generous in their ratings, but I would think you will get the full amount. You will probably see a bit more smoke, as more fuel=more smoke. You should notice a slight increase in power, although 65hp will not set you back in your seat very much...

thx man! i dont need aton of hp but i do want some. but im thinking with my edge and the injectors will be good! about how long will the install take to put in the 2 pumps and the injectors? thx guys u have been a HUGE help thanks again!

 

It's about 4hrs for the VP44, another couple of hours for the lift pump, and maybe an hour or so for the injectors. Play it safe and bank on a weekend.
