transfer Case, 4x4 Not Working
when i put the transfer case in 4 high or 4 low it engages in the transfer case but i dont have 4x4 and the light on the dash does not come on? and i pulled the vacum line off of the front diff and its not getting any thing.. could it be the solinoid that is goes into at the back of transfer case? and does anyone know whats that called?
thanks

I would follow my vaccum lines all the way back to the t-case. Sometimes the rubber boots where the steel lines connect to the rubber swell up and leak or come off all together.. I just noticed you said vaccum line, theres 2 lines one holds the actuator fork in 4wd the other out. make sure you were checking the right one for vaccum..

I just had the same problem. On top of the transfer case is a 4wd actuator switch. It is where all the vacuum lines come together to supply vacuum to the differential. Ordered mine from LMCTruck.com. $22 after shipping.
I agree... The posi lock system is definately the way to go on any 4x4 chrysler with a two piece passenger shaft. You will never have to worry about your 4x4 not engaging ever again!!
Just had this happen actually still waiting on my kit from alloy. transfer case would lock in but axle wouldn't it would randomly shift. Turns out to be actuator on transfer case. So temporarily to be able to drive it ran vacuum from the tee in the engine compartment to the disconnect side of the CAD central axle disconnect. If I need four wheel drive I just have to lock in the transfer case and switch the vacuum line to the other side. It works for now kit should be here tomorrow.
