Default Which Sport Headlights Did You Use?

I've been in the process of converting my non-sport headlights to sport headlight assemblies for quite some time now. The parts weren't easy to locate and (some of them) took a long time to arrive.

I located a complete set of W-114 Sport headlight assemblies (w/turn signal housings) from an '01, but the (read: plastic) headlight adjustment "housings" ended up being fractured. This renders them useless, obviously, so now I'm back in the market for sport headlight assemblies.

If anyone reading this has performed this conversion, please let me know how it went for you and, more importantly, which brand of sport headlight assembly you purchased for the job.

I'm especially interested in hearing from anyone who's done the conversion on a '98.5 RAM. Do you have to cut away metal to accomodate the inner (9004) lamps? I spent some time measuring everything, and I simply don't see how one can fit the entire sport assembly -- housing, lamp and harness -- in the space provided for the factory non-sport headlights.

Thanks for your time,
B&W

I know on the 12Vs that you may have to trim some of the sheet metal behind the lights to make them fit properly. Probably true in your case as well.

Default One model year can make a difference

I was just reading some of my old e-mail, Dr. Evil, and the recommended sport assemblies were designed for the '99 to '01 model years. This would also seem to indicate that the "headlight cavities" were changed for the '99 models. I'm driving a '98.5 RAM, so there you go.

In the case of my FASS modification, I cut a notch out behind the cab (to get the unit to the desired height): so I guess it's time to fire the grinder back up.
