airdog...truck not runnin great
so my 02 seems to be having problems. on acceleration im getting some hesitance like theres no fuel there but its only for a few seconds. when really gettin on it it is surging at full throttle. i just changed the fuel filter a few days ago from a 2micron to a 10micron. so the fuel filter is good. the vp and the airdog are only a few months old and i also have no codes. fuel pressure is a good 16 psi. so i got to lookin around to try and figure out what could be causing this. i looked thru the wheel well and on the top of the tank really close and noticed that when the airdog was put in the fitting that goes to the draw straw was pinched between the crossmember and the tank and there looks to be a split in the hose where the fitting is inserted. im thinking this could be causing some of my headaches but how bout you guys? what do ya think?
well i guess i will go home and try and reset it just because and i planned on lowering the tank and redoing the fitting...just thought i would see what everybody else thought before hand.
well i reset the apps and the voltage to it...havent had a chance to lower the tank and fix the hose yet...still wondering if its gonna be the cause but it is still definately runnin like doo doo when i get into it? anybody else?
if your hitting air pockets your fuel pressure guage would flutter.....you need to get a graphing scanner on there and see throttle % of the apps and see if it its all over the place.....reseting it dosent always work and just becuase the vp is only a few months old dosent mean much ......
CC,
I would go ahead and correct the fitting that you have described. I have a scanguage and sometimes I monitor the TPS for flucuations (spelling??). I will atest to an apps giving hell to the drivability. I had corrected mine a couple of times and then read somewhere about a TIMBO apps. So after a trip from S Florida to Maryland, that was the first thing I ordered. But before throwing money at it for the APPS, get the AD lines straightened out. Just my 2 cents.
