Default Transmission questions...

I'm getting a really bad vibration in my 2nd gen, just at speeds above 40, and in drive and overdrive. It does it with the OD on, or off. It runs fine at lower speeds, I've had the driveshaft balanced, my front end is good, everything seems tight, tires are wearing great, and pretty new, could this finally be my doomed trani??? TC maybey? What else can I look for? My fluids good n red, levels fine, no leaks, I've seen a thread about that electrical deal with the lock-up TC, with a $90 fix. My grounds all seem ok, batteries are good, I'm lost. This vibration seems to be getting worse too. The dude at Driveline One, here in my area said, do a ride height adjustment check, something about seeing if the rearends rotating to the front or back when I brake jack it. Whats that gona do? I feel like this is a trani proble. Ballpark, whats a trani cost, with a TC? I don't wana spend $4G on a trani, I'm kinda bummed. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Billy D

Tires balanced properly? Be a lot cheaper than a transmission.

I have the receipt from the previous owner when he rebuilt the transmission. Triple Billet T/C, Valve Body, and the rebuild was $5,000. Sure hope it's something else for your sake.

My u-joints are pretty new, I had them checked when they balanced my driveshaft, and my tires out of balance could give me that really bad vibration? I'de better start there first, cheaper as you said. Thanks all. Anything else???

My work truck is a F550 with duals. When there is mud in the duals, acting like unbalanced tires, the vibration is horrible. To the point I can't lean forward due to the seatbelt locking up at hiway speeds. So I have to pull them off, wash them out, and reinstall them.

Just to confirm, this is a ground speed issue, not RPM?

I had the same thing happen with my 92 Dodge and it was mud glued onto the inside of the front wheels. Cleaned them out and it would run at speed perfectly.
